What Horigin stores on your device, and why.
Session cookie (necessary)
If you create an account or sign in, a strictly necessary session cookie is set to keep you signed in from page to page. It serves no other purpose and is never shared with a third party. Without it, magic-link sign-in wouldn't work.
Preferences (necessary for personalization)
If you customize your weightings without creating an account, that choice is stored in your browser's local storage (localStorage) and mirrored in a cookie of the same type (strictly necessary, no tracking). This cookie lets the site show a personalized ranking right from the home page, even without an account. It stays on your device and is never shared with a third party.
What we don't use
No advertising cookies, no audience-measurement trackers, no browsing-data sharing with third parties.
